Level 1
This level is the introduction to the technical competitive aspect of gymnastics. At Level 1, gymnasts do not compete in the USAG or AAU program. All Level 1 athletes begin a rigorous conditioning program while still learning fundamental basic skills.
Level 2 and Level 3
On Your Toes Gymnastics is the #1 ranked Level 2 program in the U.S., having won two National Championships, and over 30 Individual All-Around National Champions since 2001. This level is where a gymnast is introduced into competitive gymnastics. Level 2 and Level 3 compete at AAU sanctioned events. Practice consists of 2 hours a day, two times a week. By invitation only.
Level 4
This is still a developmental level, but the skills and routines are more difficult and challenging. Florida has the highest rate of level 4 gymnasts in the country. This level is also the introductory level to higher level gymnastics. These athletes begin a very rigorous conditioning program in order to maintain a high level of strength and agility. Practice consisits of 3 times a week, 4 hours a day.
Level 5-6
These levels are still compulsory levels, but the skills are much more difficult. In addition, gymnasts begin to develop optional skills and some basic elements in order to develop future optional routines. thses levels can only be achieved by attaining a certain minimum score recieved at any USAG sanctioned meet. Girls typically workout 10 hours per week.
Level 7-10
Gymnasts make up and compete thier own routines, with the help from our own professional choreographer. Gymnasts must fulfill certain requirements but can select certain skills (ABC's of optional gymnastics) in order to achieve a certain minimum score, based on start values (Levels 9-10). At level 10, gymnasts become eligible to receive college scholarships to Universities that offer competitive gymnastics programs. OYT's gymnastics optional teams train 16-20 hours per week. Our Team staff is glad that you visited our website. Please contact us for further questions.
Elite
this is the top level in Gymnastics. Less than 1% of all gymnasts in the USAG program will compete at this level. Gymnasts compete in regional, and National competititons. Only the best will be eligible to compete in International competitions as a member of the U.S. National Team. Selection to the National team is by placement on a yearly basis at the Visa U.S. National Championships, and then by selection by the National committee as well. In addition to training at their gyms, these athletes must train in Houston, TX. at least 9 weekends a year.Failure to live up to this commitment will result in dismissal from the Elite program. An athlete must be at least 12 years old to compete as an International Elite.
College Gymnastics
College gymnastics is a fast growing sport for most National Colleges and Universities. Not only that, but it is also a fun and free way to provide your gymnast with a free education. To become eligible for a scholarship, a gymnast must be at least a Level 10 gymnast and score at least a 900 on thier SAT exam.
